Commercial Awareness
"Commercial awareness" is a set of words that pops up a lot in anything law or solicitor related. It is a crucial part of solicitor training contract applications in England, so it is no surprise that law students and graduates are offered a lot of learning resources on commercial awareness. Prior to my Master’s, I was new to the whole concept and only recently started to understand the importance of it. I must admit, I get a bit frustrated with the topic as it is something you cannot learn overnight; it is something that you learn constantly. Like mentioned, there are many resources such as blogs, podcasts, articles, online courses and events that focus on commercial awareness. If you are interested in a career as a solicitor I would recommend using them to your advantage.
